Although we strongly believe that students should travel to and from Band events as a group, we will honor parent requests related to schedule conflicts and emergencies for other transportation. 

 

• It is mandatory that an “Independent Travel Form” be filled out and turned in at a minimum of 24 hours
  before any trip for a student to travel to or from a Band function with a parent after a performance.

• Students are responsible for arranging to transport their instrument and other belongings to or from events.

 

Parents: When making last-minute decisions regarding personal travel arrangements, please consider the challenges involved in planning and traveling with all the Band students. Keeping track of them is our highest priority and requires detailed organization as part of our trip planning. To help us ensure better organization for the students, please provide advance notice of any travel arrangements.

If your conflict is sports or drama or something with a schedule, speak to the directors with a copy of the (practice, game, performance) schedule at the beginning of the season. Reminder that students must split their time evenly between the band and the other activity. This form must be submitted to the directors at least two weeks before the scheduling conflict (for non-activity specific conflicts).

 

Submission of the form does not guarantee that your absence will be excused. One of the directors will inform you if your absence is approved.

 

Use one of these forms when submitting a conflict of schedule to the directors in advance of your conflict whenever possible. Be specific with your conflict.
