Our Program
The foundation of the Kingwood Park Panther Band Program rests on a rich tradition of musical excellence and the firm belief that every student can find a welcoming place within the close-knit Panther Band Family. Over the years, the band programs have received numerous awards and recognition for their outstanding achievements.
With more than 120 students enrolled in various bands and ensembles, our program welcomes everyone. Many of our students are actively engaged in marching band while also participating in athletics, clubs, and various other activities.

Bre Osbourn is in her fourth year as Director of Bands for the K Park Band program!
Ms. Osbourn is the primary director and designer for the K Park Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Flute Choir, and indoor marching arts programs and she is also on staff with the Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps as a part of the administration, brass and visual teams.
She has been teaching for twenty-one years and in that time has a great deal of love and success in helping students thrive in the UIL, TMEA, NTCA, TCGC, DCI and WGI competitive organizations.
Ms. Osbourn has two children, Ean and Adilyn, who are both members of the horn section, color guard and winter guard in the K Park Band program.
When Ms. Osbourn isn’t busy with all things band or designing costumes she spends time with her first loves; her pets. She has 5 cats - Dante, Hobbes, Layla, Tater Tot and Lucas and her dog, Von. Together they like to watch all things Star Wars, true crime and game show-oriented.
Ross Weckesser is currently the Director of Percussion and Assistant Director of Bands at Kingwood Park High School. Prior to that, he served as Director of Percussion at Elkhart High School in Elkhart, Indiana. During that time, the Elkhart Winter Percussion Ensemble was a three-time Indiana Percussion Association Finals Medalist, and the 2024 Scholastic Concert A State Champion. Before moving to Indiana, he was a percussion director and band director for many years in Texas, most notably at A&M Consolidated High School in College Station, and at Memorial High School and Victoria West High School in Victoria. In 2006, he was a front ensemble technician for The Magic Drum and Bugle Corps. During graduate school, he was the instructor of the SIU Saluki Drumline and assistant director of the SIU Percussion Group and the SIU Basketball Pep Band. Additionally, he has done extensive volunteer work for Bands of America/Music for All, as event staff for various music festivals, and as an instructor and camp staff for the Summer Symposium. Originally from Wheaton, Illinois, he earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree from VanderCook College of Music, and a Master of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Southern Illinois University. Mr. Weckesser is a member of the Percussive Arts Society, and is an Innovative Percussion Artist and product endorser.
Rosie Barron has had over 30 years of experience in performing arts through dance and colorguard. She has had formal training in dance at the Houston Ballet, Houston Met and Planet Funk. She has performed in various dance companies throughout the Houston area, performed for the Houston Rockets own Launch Crew and she has also led her own dance company called Freedom Dance Co. Rosie was chosen by the U.S. Department of State to teach arts in the Cultural Envoy program and to act as an ambassador to the United States in Denmark for a month-long tour which she has done twice.
She joined color guard in high school and continued competing in TCGC and WGI competitions after. Her performing arts experience led her to serve as a color guard director for the past seven years in which she designed many winter guard and marching shows in which her teams received many titles.
She is currently a Teaching Artist for Young Audiences of Houston and is also a Dance Instructor for Diaz Music Institute. She is also a wife and mother to 6 children who are also participants in various performing arts programs.
She is excited to now join the KPark Band and serve as the Colorguard Director.
